Red stag season and the roar
Red stag are hunted in the fall at Rustic Springs Ranch, and the roar is the hunt most guests want. In September and October the stags are in hard antler, roaring at dawn and dusk and pushing hinds, and a mature stag announcing himself across a bottom is the loudest thing on the ranch. After the roar, stags stay hard-antlered through the rest of the fall and the hunting stays good.
Red deer hind meat hunts
A red deer hind hunt is $1,500 and puts more meat in the freezer than any other hunt on the ranch. Hind hunts include access to our cleaning facility with electric hoists, cold storage and an ice machine.
What to expect
A trophy red stag hunt is $8,950, fully guided and backed by our "No Shot Opportunity, No Pay" policy. If an animal is shot and not recovered, the hunter is responsible for the full price of the animal. Lodging and meals are $200 per person per day for ages 13 and up, and free for kids 12 and under. You bring your own rifle, or ask us about a loaner. A 50 percent non-refundable deposit reserves your dates.
