The scimitar horned oryx is the most striking animal on the ranch: a white and rust antelope carrying long, sweeping horns that curve back over its shoulders. It is a desert species that survives today largely because of Texas ranches, and at Rustic Springs Ranch in Franklin County, East Texas, we hunt oryx year-round on a fully guided basis, under 2 hours from Dallas.
Oryx run in herds and feed in the open, so this is a hunt of patience and judgment. Your guide will help you sort bulls from cows and pick a mature animal with heavy, even horns. Oryx are tough, so we talk through shot placement and caliber before you ever climb into the blind.

A trophy scimitar horned oryx hunt is $7,250, fully guided and backed by our "No Shot Opportunity, No Pay" policy. Lodging and meal packages are optional add-ons at $200 per person per day for ages 13 and up, and free for kids 12 and under. Full details are on our hunting packages and prices page.
What to expect on your hunt
You bring your own rifle, or ask us about a loaner. A valid Texas hunting license is required, and out-of-state hunters can buy a 5-day exotic non-resident license through Texas Parks and Wildlife. A 50 percent non-refundable deposit reserves your dates, and reschedules need at least 30 days' notice. If an animal is shot and not recovered, the hunter is responsible for the full price of the animal. There is no minimum age to hunt; youth hunt alongside a parent under Texas Parks and Wildlife rules.
Add a second species
